Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, senior head executives at EON productions ltd., Universal Pictures and partners are delighted to announce, that all future installments of the „Bond-Saga“ have been postponed until further notice. „This was a very painful, but somehow liberating decision to make. It takes away both - the unbarable pression of making these films, and the expectations, which grew way too high over time“, says Broccoli. „Bond always goes with the times, not the times with Bond. This besides many other reasons brought us to the idea of a more open concept, where beloved characters from the now freshly rebranded Bond-Saga could return to the big or smaller screen“, concludes Wilson. „Right now, we seriously consider to adapt the origin story of Estrella, the charming lady seducing Bond during the Day of the Dead-parade in Mexico City at the beginning of Spectre. At the time releasing the movie, we felt there was unfinished business, an untold story to dive in. Completing the story-arch of this character, proving its strenghts, feels very satisfying to say the least“, continues Broccoli. „We also have great interest in adapting the Tales of Tanner, a serie of fanfictional diaries written by an anonymous, yet very talented blogger, highlighting the misadventures of Bill Tanner, chief of staff at MI6 and one of the most popular characters amongst fans worlwide.“
